Weary Scholarship

In 1989, the Mid-America Weary Scholarship Foundation was founded in honor of cable leader and entrepreneur Robert K. Weary (1921-2001) for his remarkable achievements in the cable industry.

The Weary Scholarship is designed to help deserving, academically oriented students to further their college education. The scholarship is open to all industry employees, their spouses and children in the Mid-America Cable Show region.

The Mid-America Cable Show offers our warm congratulations to this year’s outstanding Weary Scholarship recipients and wishes them well as they continue their academic career.

In 2017 Six (6) – $3,000 scholarships will be awarded to the following recipients:

Jordon Begaye - Belton, MO (Spectrum)

Kevin Hewitt - El Paso, TX (Charter Spectrum)

Jett Joyner - Conway, AR (Conway Corporation)

Alexus Langemeier - Norfolk, NE (Cable One)

Marissa Snider - Springfield, MO (Mediacom)

Jeremiah Taylor - Lewisville, TX (Spectrum)

2017 Scholarship Qualifications:

Qualifiers: The Mid-America Weary Scholarship is available to cable industry employees, their spouses and children in the Mid-America region (see Locations below.)  There are no limits on the number of times you can apply or receive a Weary Scholarship.

Location: Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma & Texas

Scholastics: HS GPA- 2.8 (on a 4 point scale)
College GPA- 2.8 (on a 4 point scale)

Deadline: Monday, August 21, 2017

All applications, documentation and letters of reference should be mailed to the PO Box on the application form.

Scholarship Amount: $3,000
